Who Am I?

This page is devoted to important, but lesser known, figures in early American History. I have provided a few clues below to the individuals identity. Email us your best guess and we will let you know if you were correct or not. If no one guesses correctly in the 1st week or so, I will add a couple more clues. The page will be updated every now and then with a different figure from our early history.


Clues:
  • I was born in Norfolk, VA in 1756
  • I was 1st Lt. on the Bonhomme Richard in the Revolutionary War
  • I also served with John Paul Jones on the "Ariel" and the "Alliance"
  • I commanded the Mediterranean Squadron during the conflict with Tripoli
  • I retired in Philadelphia
